Diagnosed with Lupus in 2008

Welcome · Bienvenido

I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2008. To come to terms with this cruel, strange disease would take me more than a decade. As the years went on, I became sicker. I developed Fibromyalgia, Psoriasis, and Raynaud's.

Other invisible illnesses I have been struggling with and still do are PTSD, anxiety, and depression. There are no cures for autoimmune diseases as of yet. But, I gather relief and comfort from God. I am passionate about raising autoimmune disease awareness.

He has made all the difference in my life! I invite you to join my journey of learning, growing, and coping from an uplifting and encouraging perspective.

Before Lupus

I was at the top of my game in my professional life, an educated woman with a bachelor's degree, and serving my country in the US Navy. I was meeting famous people, traveling the world, and moving up through the ranks. I was a runner and gym rat, and I loved to dance. I was in the best physical shape I could possibly be in. I had a loving family and wonderful friends.

But, it would all come crashing down around me when a mysterious disease would change my life forever. That disease has a name. Lupus.

Overcoming Darkness

My Lupus and I have been on quite a journey. Pain, loss, despair, guilt, depression, anxiety, hurt, and loneliness have all haunted my soul. I remember sitting on the beach and looking out at the ocean. I broke down and cried like I had never done before.

I was begging God to help me through the emotional and mental state I keep torturing myself into. My faith in God had been there, but not as strong as that morning on the beach. I swear, I could feel His arms around me, picking me up, and giving me hope. From that day forward, my faith has not been shaken.
